Each standing TRB committee creates its own Triennial Strategic Plan (TSP). The TSP articulates the committee’s mission and scope, charts a course of action, and establishes supporting goals and strategies.
The TSP is based on a critical self-assessment: it identifies recent committee successes and accomplishments, and also areas where the committee can improve. The TSP is a key resource for members and friends of the Urban Freight Transportation Committee, and also a helpful reference for persons seeking more information and familiarity with the committee.
The three key elements of the TSP are:
- Committee future outlook statement (with a seven year horizon)
- Committee plan (with a three year horizon)
- Committee history (over the past three years)
Committee TSPs are prepared once every three years, and are reviewed by the leadership of the TRB Freight Systems Group.
